Words are one of the most powerful things that can hurt a person emotionally, so I’ve heard. Every person has something to say, whether its good or bad people just let it out to feel relief. There I am surfing the Internet for nonsense things and playing games, when I got to encounter beef. That time I was hungry; I tried to search for more to satisfy my hunger yet what I saw was Filipino beef. Beef? What is it really? What is it to them?
“Lyrical war” apparently that’s what the beef means. pinoyhiphopsuperstar.blogspot.com where I got to see the article "PINOY BEEF,"
where their GOAL is to inform hip hop fans about local artist and history. It was this article that showed how Filipinos too could also rap with violent words and phrases just as any other rappers could do. There were a lot of songs that showed potential that it can cause true violence. Words that are explicit are also shown like song title “??? (tang ina mo)” song by J Skeelz & Mike Kosa, “Bobo,” “Bobo part2(Jawtee diss), “gago and puking ina ka” form the song Dear Kuya and “putang ina” was said repeatedly in the song “O.W.P.O (Owpo JL diss)” artist by Ghetto Dogs, there were a lot more. There were even English words like “mothafucker,” “bitch.” and “dick sucker.” I saw that instead of code names that should be use, they really used the real names of the one they made the song for. May be to say that was really for them and they are angry.
In the article, there wasn’t much that the writer could tell about, but there were a lot of examples of killing that they are telling to the one whom they wrote it for to just die and according to the article he dug that information from the singers directly. Some manage to respond to what was asked, but some didn’t even answer. But this article had support only a little so it based on the lyrics of the songs that he has. I also read one talk that the rappers got put in the slammers for saying the name of another rapper assaulting them with awful words.
Well as one of the non-fans of rap, I still find it hard to like or even love rapping. Even though I can hear those songs every day in everywhere I go, I still get irritated listening to it. Having to put up with music that you don’t like is like eating vegetable you may vomit, may be that’s why I always have my headphones. That went well, I think. Searching for beef really made me hungry and I thought it was real meat though.
